Pav Bhaji Recipe – Breakfast Recipe

We know that the Pav Bhaji Recipe is an occasional recipe. Generally, it can fit for kids party, kids birthday , small home meetings, some small events or programs etc But, we never make it in any spiritual program.

To make Pav Bhaji is easy recipe but need more time and hands to make it . As we have to prepare a lot of ingredients for it . Of them cutting vegetables is more lengthy process.

When I had been in the Bombay we are bringing ”Pav Bhaji” for my kid. He likes it. At that time they never make Bhaji by crushing potatoes and all vegetables. They are keeping only pieces of potatoes as it is . But, this Bhaji had very delicious taste.Nowadays every where PavBhaji is making by crushing potatoes but it loses taste.

Today I have made it by crushing check here how did I have made it.?

Pav : 1 and 1/2 dozen

Red tomatoes: 500 gm [well chopped]

potatoes: 1/2 kg

Onion : 500 gm [well chopped]

tomatoes: 500 gm [chopped]

paste of garlic, green chilly and coriander: 4 tbsp

oil : 50 gm

mustard seeds: 2 tbsp

cumin seeds : 2 tbsp

Pav Bhaji masala : 1 tbsp coriander:1 bowl [well chopped]

METHOD TO MAKE IT : Bring fresh Pav from the market.                                           Check that these Pav’s are clean and well baked.   : Keep ready all another ingredients as mentioned above.   : Cook l the potatoes completely so that it can crush easily. 

: Keep the pan on the gas, pour the oil to it, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, paste of garlic, etc and saute it. : Add potatoes, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions to it. Fry it well.

Do you know In our India some recipes are occasional. They can make at particular time and really they are bringing fantastic taste. We can’t imagine about their taste. As we know that eagerness is the main cause of happiness. This eagerness brings us enjoyment and real joy in our life. If we will make this dish on any time it never bring this much delicious taste as on that day. I think definitely some feelings mixing with that recipe and it brings automatically delicious taste.

Moong dal: 100 gm

peanuts:20 gm

lemon juice: 1/2 tbsp

sugar for taste

salt:1 tab

coriander: 2 tbsp

cumin powder: 1 tbsp

turmeric powder: 1/2 tbsp

chat masala: 1tbsp

oil : 1 tbsp

mustard seeds:1 tbsp

pieces of green chilly: 1 tbsp

pinch of hing.

Method to make it . Wash Moong Dal clean.

Now keep the pan on the gas, Pour oil to it, add cumin seeds, pinch of hing, pieces of green chilly and mustard seeds. Wait to splutter it.

Now slowly add soaked Moong dal to it.Stir it well. Add sugar, salt, chat masala, lemon juice, etc .

Spread some water on it to get good steam.

Now serve it with lemon.

Basen cake , this cake is very familiar in our area as it is making after marriage of son or daughter . We say it ”MANDAV THAPTANI” means we are making small plants room to complete some rituals. We are worshiping it in the marriage with giving prasad to it. In so many families rituals of bride grooms are completing there . That is wearing bangles, giving gifts to the parents of so many brides grooms, filling earthen pot with water by singing songs, taking Ukhana means name of husband in the poem or n the song etc . So we call it Mandav pooja. We say this is the ”SHUBH” ritual of every generation . To get next rituals within the time & get blessing to the next generation is the ”Motto” of this rituals .

So after marriage we have been getting bored with eating same sweets .To make change in food habits we make this Basen Cake but, it is delicious.

Basen flour – 250 gm

chilly powder – 1 tbsp

turmeric powder _ 1teas

grated coconut-2 tbsp

coriander- 2 tbsp

salt- 1 tbsp

oil- 2 tbsp

cumin powder- 1 tbsp

cumin seeds – 1 tbsp

mustard seeds- 1 tbsp

lemon juice -1 tbsp

PROCEDURE FOR IT : Take the basen flour in a pot.

Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, lemon juice, etc to it .

Add water to it and mix it properly .

Now keep the pan on the gas, pour oil to it, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds , pinch of hing and wait to splutter it.

Add the mixture of basen flour slowly to it and stir it well.

Cook it to become well solid Pithala

Now take the big thali , apply some oil on it. Pour cooked Pithala on it.

Spread it with hand or spoon , spread grated coconut and chopped coriander on it.

Serve it with Amati or any chutney , gives very nice taste. We can also eat it as it is.

One day my husband bought a lot of means one big sack of corns at home from our own farm. First, i thought why did this much he has brought? It is useless, who can make it? remove it, fry it & so boring things to do. So I ignore it at the first time, then he kept it in the hot Sun. Again i thought he made lots of dust in the home.

salt                      * as your convenience

butter or oil     * 2 tbsp

chilly powder  1/2 tbsp

turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

curry leaves    4 to 5

cumin powder  1 tbsp

lemon ark  1/2 tbsp

sugar powder     1 tbsp

Crispy Corn

  •   PROCEDURE   *   Remove the grains of sweet corn with hand, &Keep aside



  • Wait to heat it, now add slowly raw popcorn.
  • Keep the lid on it instantly. Wait for a while, it makes a funny sound under the lid, this sound feels us as a sound of an alarm clock. Very funny & interesting thing to make it.

  •   When total grains converted into corn automatically sound gets stopped, we can understand our Pop Corns are ready to eat.

Do you know in our area village people’s best breakfast is this chutney with white Jowar Roti?  Generally, this chutney is famous in summer, as here cultivation of onion and raw mangoes are there .when we mix raw mango with onion it gives super taste. I  think if any man may be with full of stomach and if we will show him this chutney with roti and ask him can you eat this chutney? He will say yes, why not?


This chutney has delicious taste .any man could eat more bread with this chutney. and has a more satisfied feeling. In the village, some ladies are making this chutney in the stone pot in the morning and keeping in an earthen pot. If this will be dry then also it can give the best taste.

raw mango 1 small size [chopped ]

chilly powder 1/4 bowl

salt 2 tbsp

Don’t add more ingredients in this chutney as it reduces original ingredients taste.

Take the big size onion, remove its upper part.

: Cut it into big pieces.

: Wash it with clean water and keep it to drain water.

:  Now take the small size raw mango, remove its peel

: Cut it into small pieces.

: Take chilly powder and salt in a small bowl

: First grind onion pieces  in the grinder or mixture

: Now add onion pieces to it and start the mixture slowly.

; Grind it slowly for a short time.: Your tasty chutney is ready to serve.

How  To Make Jowar Roti ?

Jowar flour  2 bowl

salt  as a taste [a pinch]

water   enough

PROCEDURE FOR IT :   Take the Jowar flour in a thali 

                                            : Keep tawa on the gas to heat it                                    

: Add sufficient water slowly in the flour .

: Knead it with one hand, if require water again add water to it slowly .

: Make its dough, while making Roti spread some flour in the thali.

: Keep the dough on the flour and spread it with both hands    uniform ally.

: Keep attention that it cannot be brake while making it .

: Now take this roti on two hands spread it on the tawa slowly   without touching to the tawa.

: Spread water on it like making the painting of roti.

: Wait to shake it and change its side to shake it .

: Again wait to shake it *  now remove tawa on the gas .

: Keep the roti by changing its side on the gas [means the side                                                     which is not shaken]

: It will automatically get swallowed like a balloon.
