Mixed Vegetable Rice Pulav – Left Over Recipe

We have some ritual in last week at home so some Subji’s are left. Some are leafy vegetables, some are masala Subji’s. But it was so tasty that smell of that food was spreading throughout the room. Then I have idea for it .First i have thought that, If I would be made Parathe of it no one is eating in my home , So I thought why not I would try to make mixed vegetable salad from it. May be it have to collect so more ingredients but , it definitely will become more tasty. This is the best option to the so many families that they can also make this experiment to get good taste. Generally , sometimes I was making Khichadi from it, but this time I decided to make Pulav from it. In so many families I have seen that after any program, event or festival so many ladies are throwing these Subji’s or eating it to the animals as like dogs, cow’s are pigs , sometimes these animals are also not eating these Subji’s and these Subji’s are getting to waste. In this way in our country lot of food is getting to waste. If we will make Pulav of it , it can ramain good for 2 days and never change its taste .Otherwise it will give delicious taste if we will make it in this way .  Gobi PulavGobiriceweight loss

left over subji : as your convience

garam masala :1 tbsp

paste of green chilly, coriander: 2 tbsp

onion : 1 [chopped]

green chilly pieces : 2 tbsp

cumin powder : 1 tbsp

turmeric powder: 1 tbsp

mustard seeds: 1 tbsp

oil : 1/2 tbsp

peanut: 20 gm

gram nut : 20 gm

curry leaves: 6 to 7

pinch of hing

salt : as your convenience

METHOD TO MAKE IT : Keep the rice before making it for 1/2 an hour.

: Keep all ingredients ready as like chopped onion, paste of garlic, green chilly, coriander etc.

; Keep the tiffin of masala with you .

; On another gas keep the water to boil .

: Now keep that gas flame slow.

: Start another gas burner and keep the small cooker on it.

: Pour the oil to it, wait to heat it , now add mustard seeds and watch its spluttering , now add green chilly, paste of garlic coriander, peanuts, gram nuts , green chilly, pinch of hing and stir fry it .

Now add left over Subji’s to it and again stir fry it.

: Now remove water from the soaked rice.

: Add this rice to the cooker, stir fry it well.

: Now add remaining all ingredients to it and again stir it well .

: Now pour hot water to it , stir it and keep the lid of cooker tight .

: Keep it to get 2 to 3 whistles ,


INSTRUCTIONS FOR IT : Take the quantity of ingredient as your convenience

Today we have nice utensils as like pressure cooker so that we can cook it easily .So now it become very easy that small children also can cook easily rice.

In my home so many are hating to eat Gobi Subji , so yesterday I decided to make Gobi Pulav for everyone. It is favorite recipe for everyone . It also cook in less time , carry multivitamins with it. Good for digestion . Gives good taste to eat . Let us check here how did I have made Gobi Pulav ?

Ingredients for it

Rice : 300 gm

Gobi : 250 gm

green chilly pieces : 2 tbsp

peanut : 20 gm

gram nut : 20 gm

Cumnin powder : 1 tbsp

OIL : 3 tbsp

mustard seeds : 1 tbsp

salt : 2 tbsp

garam masala : 1 tbsp

paste of coriander and garlic : 1 tbsp

turmeric powder : 1/2 tbsp

lemon juice : as your convenience

Method to make it : Keep the given amount of rice to soak for half an hour.

Take all ingredients ready in a big Thali .

Keep the 1/2 lit water to boil in another container.

Keep small cooker on the gas , pour oil to it ,add mustard seeds wait to splutter it. Add pieces of green chilly, peanut ,gram nut, grated Gobi , etc. Fry it well.

Now add soaked rice to it , fry it well . Add all remaining ingredients to it . As like turmeric powder, paste of green chilly, coriander , gar am masala, salt , lemon juice , sugar etc

Fry it well .

Add hot water to it and keep lid of the cooker tight. Wait for 20 minutes .

After 20 minutes you will get tasty Gobi Pulav .

Instruction for it : Take hot water to make Pulav to get complete delicious taste.

Rice 100 gm

Moong dal 50 gm

cumin seeds 1 tbsp

mustard seeds 1 tbsp

salt 1 tbsp

turmeric powder 1 teas

garam masala 1/2 teas if you like

coriander 2 tbsp

Oil 2 tbsp

curry leaves 4 to 5

A paste of garlic, green chilly and coriander 1 tbsp

PROCEDURE FOR IT : Take the Rice , Moong Dal, wash it with clean water and keep to drain it.

Now keep the small cooker on the gas Pour oil to it, wait to heat it.

Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and wait to splutter it.

Add curry leaves and saute it well .

Now add 1/2 lit water to it. Add salt, turmeric powder, sugar to it , Wait to boil it.

Now add Rice, Moong dal and stir it well. Add coriander to it .Add paste of green coriander, garlic and green chilly.

Keep the lid of cooker tight .

Take 3 whistles and put off the gas.

Your well known tasty, delicious Khichadi is ready to eat now .

Add rice garam masala, chilly powder, turmeric powder, a paste of garlic , green chilly , salt etc and saute it well.

Add hot water to it and keep the lid of cooker.

Keep the gas slow for 10 to 15 minutes and wait to get 3 whistles .

Some are making by cooking , some are making after cooking.Everyone has different method. I didn’t like to make juice of palak but still I decided to make experiment first time.

green moong dal 1/2 bowl

green palak 1 bowl [well chopped]

coriander 2 tbsp [well chopped]

garlic flakes 3 to 4

PROCEDURE FOR IT    Take the green palak wash it with clean water and keep a side to drain water.

Take the coriander wash it and keep aside to drain it.

Chop the palak and coriander and add to mixture jar to make it’s juice. Add green chilly and ginger, garlic flakes along with it.

: Add 2 cup water in the mixture jar and make it’s juice .

Take 1 bowl of rice and 1/2 bowl moong dal , wash it and keep aside to drain water.

Now keep the cooker on the gas ,pour oil to it , add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and wait to splutter it .

Now pour slowly green juice to it and add sufficient water to cook it.

Now add turmeric powder, salt, cumin powder, garam masala and wait to boil it .

Now add washed rice , moong dal to it and keep the lid of cooker tight.

Keep the flame of gas slow.

Now take 3 to 4 whistles of cooker .

Wait to cool the cooker and serve it now.

Rice  1 + 1/2 cup

moong dal  1/2 bowl

Methi leaves  1 bowl [chopped]

coriander 1/2 bowl [chopped]

spring onion  1 bowl [chopped]

paste of garlic  1 tbsp

cucumber[green]  1/2 bowl[small pieces]

everyday masala 1 tbsp

chilly powder 1 tbsp

turmeric powder 1 teas

cumin’s powder 1 tbsp

cumin  1 tbsp

mustered seeds  1 tbsp

oil 1/2 bowl

curry leaves  5 to 6

salt  as you wish

PROCEDURE FOR IT : Wash the rice , moong dal and keep it for soaking

: Take the fresh spring onion wash it and keep aside.

: Wash the Methi leaves and keep aside.


: Take the green fresh cucumber ,wash it and keep aside

: Now chop all these vegetables well and keep aside.



*: Keep another ingredients ready to make it .

: Drain the water from rice and moong dal

: Now keep the cooker on the gas ,pour oil in to it

: Wait to heat it , add cumin, mustard seeds and wait to splutter

:   Add curry leaves , Methi leaves,spring onion, coriander                                                              leaves and saute it well.

: Add cucumber pieces and saute it well. 

: Now add all ingredients one by one that is chilly powder,                            cumin powder,turmeric powder, garam masala ,garlic  paste , etc and stir it well.

:Keep the lid of the cooker on it and take 1 or 2 whistles

: Add rice , Moong dal and saute it well

: Now add 1/2 lit hot water into the cooker and keep the  lid

: Now take 2 to 3 whistles and wait to cool.

: Serve it in the dishes as like breakfast poha.

Masala khichadi with all nutrients and vitamins -Khichadi recipe.

When we were in Bombay I have learnt this recipe. As there were all states people. Means from Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, UP, Assam, etc. All were living lovingly to each other. We were living at Bandra Borge Home. A big hostel of ”TATA Hospital” There they have given us a huge kitchen we all were making there our food. At that time gas was not there so everyone was bringing stoves with them and in them, a lot of stoves are running and so we can’t talk to each other. Everyone has to get a specific space to make food.

I was also making food there. In them, we have a good family of a patient from Madhyapradesh. That patient name was Ghanshyam. He also suffered from the same disease. He was with his Mama. His age was 21 years. His Mama loves him unconditionally. Thinking that ”our relation is like Ram and Hanuman ” means they consider for the sister’s son as a Hanuman and treats very lovingly. Anyone’s mother also can\’t take care of like him. He had made one wish to Hanuman for him that ‘If his Bhanjya will be cured totally, he will go to take Darshan of Hanuman about 100 KM by walking ”’He makes food for him washing all utensils, feeds him. A patient was very nice and in a healthy condition. If we will see we didn’t feel that he was patient. But then also he was always taking rest as due to chemotherapy he becomes tired and weak.

In today’s period can anyone live like this for his sister’s Son? or can anyone will live with any Bhanjya for 9 Month by leaving his own family? 

The same situation was there my ‘mama went to the tour in that period and his son was for MBBS in CHEM HOSPITAL. He came to visit his own son and maybe thought to see my son . He came to meet my son alone not brought any fruits or any sweet food item . Having a good job of Bank Manager along with his wife HOD of senior college and having a big farm and so many properties. He enters in my son’s room.At that time my son was admitted into the hospital and sat aside.I was happy as my Mama came to see my Son. At that time my husband was not there, he sat for awhile and gave 10 Rs only for my son although I have to spent 2.5 lack Rs for my son.  then also I didn’t mind about his relationship. See the same relation was there one was behaving like this and one was like this.

Now before 3 years at Diwali, he was suffered from Brain attack and admitted in the Hospital, he had brain hammering and something I got this news I rush to the Hospital. His wife, his daughter’s husband were sitting outside. There was no entry to the patient inside in ICU. After small intervals of time, they gave us permission to meet him. I went inside and saw him he was crying, his wife also crying loudly and saying his hand was hot means he has a lot of temperatures. Actually, he didn’t have any temperature and all were thinking that everything was finished. After a successful operation. Both were crying loudly now what can I do? I saw there another patient and told them why did you were crying,? see here so many patients were in the coma. They have a lot of difficulties to do their operation and your operation was very well done. You are talking well and then also crying. Both have lost their confidence with a lot of fear.I have given good counselling for both. Took money 150 Rs from his Son to do ”Abhishek ” in the ”DATTA MANDIR ” temple. First, I told his son ”go to the temple and fill the money for ‘Abhishek ”He has a van with him I didn’t have any vehicle with me. But he refused to go to the temple and he gave me 100 Rs and told take this money and you go to the temple. Then I went to the temple by walking about 1 KM , filled the money of his name for ”Abhishek and came back. Then I have to make food and some Diwali food items in my home. I haven’t eaten any food on that day as I have to go to the temple. So to come home there was 1 o’clock and up to this time I was with an empty stomach.

Now he is in Okay condition. 

I want to explain here one point that when God gives us some unhappiness in our life it is for to learn something.If we are not learning anything from it means we become totally animal or again we have to face this type of situation.

I am writing a post about Masala KHICHADI and telling you another story. So his cousin [MAMA] making Special Khichadi for him. He had told me a lot of times story of his Khichadi at first I thought he may be making something different. Now he was telling me a recipe for it. told one word that is Ajawine. I was new in Bombay I can speak Hindi very well but some hidden food items or new words didn’t know to me and He was explaining to me about Ajawine. He explained me half an hour about that spice food item still we didn’t understand means, my husband, too. Now he tired by explaining told let us we shall go to the market to bring some new food items. So we went into the market. Both took some grocery  and when he took grocery he took Ajawine pocket and I saw oh, this is ”OVA”in Marathi and they were tired by explaining it .  To know this spice item he told us in a lot of ways, explaining its structure, it tastes it’s use everything but we didn’t understand.  At that time we have laughed for half an hour.Jaggary, Ginger Paratha …

Now he started to make Khichadi  in front of me by showing it’s all recipe. So many times he was making it and smell of his Khichadi spreads through all building. I asked about his rice he told we were bringing rice from Shimala from Himachal Pradesh.  Really he was making Khichadi or rice the whole building was taking a smell of it.

So here is his recipe.

rice: 1 bowl

gram dal 40 gm

moong dal 40 gm

tomato   2 [chopped]

potatoes: 1 well chopped

green chilly 2 to 3

peanut 1/2 bowl

curry leaves 4 to 5

oil 15 ml 

cumin seeds 1 tbsp

mustard seeds 1 tbsp

garam masala 1 tbsp

chilly powder 1/2 tbsp

garlic: 2 to 3 flakes

hing 1 pinch

salt As your convenience

water 1/2 lit hot     

  PROCEDURE FOR IT: Take all ingredients in a thali.

:  Add water to gram dal, moong dal, potato and rice,

: Keep the water to heat in another pot on the gas.

: Keep other ingredients ready in a thali.

: Keep the cooker on the gas pour oil to it, wait to splutter it .

: Add curry leaves, peanut, tomato, potato and fry it well.

: Add hing, cumin powder, garam masala, chilly powder, salt etc and stir it well.

: After a while add gram dal moong dal, rice and stir it well.

: Now add hot water to it and stir it well and keep the lid of                                                            cooker.        

Keep the gas on a lower flame, take 2 to 3 whistles and put off                                             the gas.

: Your well prepared Khichadi is ready to eat. It also gives good                                               smell everywhere.
